Because of the sublime sound quality and the utterly unique design, this is one of the most famous decks in the world. This device unleashed a true revolution in the Hi-Fi world in 1973 in terms of the appreciation for Compact Cassette recorders.

For the general public, the tri-tracer 1000 was a 20 kg heavy, priceless (you could buy a car for the same money) NASA moonlander-like machine. In the Netherlands, this was slightly different, because our national pride Philips had invented the compact cassette.

The Nakamichi has had major service with special attention to the keypad. It consists of touch keys, you do not really have to press them. This means that there is a very small current on the keys, and they cannot come in touch with anything conducting under any circumstances. This requires a painfully accurate positioning which can also not be sensitive to aging. This positioning has been once again aligned and fixed very accurately. The rubbers and belts have been renewed, the device has been degaussed, cleaned and lubricated and set to 240 volts. The optical condition is what you may expect from a vintage 1973, without serious items which I would have certainly mentioned here. There are plenty of photos to get a good idea.
